Mayor Cole called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

    That South Huron Council adjourn at 6:03 p.m. for the purpose of a Public Meeting pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning Act for proposed zoning amendments D14-15-2017 - Miners and D14-16-2017 McMacker Homes Ltd. (MacLean)

Items 8.9.2 and 8.9.3 were amended by adding Administration reports.

Ms. Seip provided an overview of the Committee's current and future projects and partnering opportunities.  She explained the evaluation criteria and bloom ratings for the Communities in Bloom program. 

Ms. Seip answered questions on how the committee determined the placement of flower barrels on municipal property and the benefits of committee initiatives.  CAO Best was directed to bring back a report on a strategy plan outlining partnership opportunities between the municipality and the committee that benefit South Huron.

Ms. Seip presented the Communities in Bloom 2017 5 Blooms Plaque for the Parkette to Mayor Cole and Councillor Hebert on behalf of South Huron. 

Mayor Cole thanked Ms. Seip for attending.

Mayor Cole noted that the report that Council requested for more information before making a decision on the 2018 Budget has now been received. 

Councillor Oke confirmed he voted in the majority on resolution #535-2017 which was defeated.  CAO Best advised that a seconder is not necessary for the following motion.

Council discussed details they would like to see in reports including permit fees and development charges.  Mr. McNab advised that a more detailed report will be brought back to council in March.

Mayor Cole update Council on Huron County Economic Development initiatives that are included in Huron County Committee of the Whole Day 2 Agenda January 17, 2018.

Councillor Oke advised Council that he would like Council to consider housing programs in rural areas as a topic for delegation to Ministers in upcoming conferences.

Mayor Cole advised Council that she received correspondence from Lisa Thompson MPP inviting representatives to meet with the PC Caucus during the ROMA conference.  CAO Best advised he will prepare background documentation and send to council for review.
