Deputy Mayor Frayned advised Council that the Jones Pedestrian Bridge committee approved the concept for the bridge and the next step is approval from ABCA. He updated Council on the location for CHIP sign and the upcoming Huron Manufacturing Association meeting.
Councillor Hebert updated Council on the Lions fishing derby held May 5, 2018 at the Morrison Dam Reservoir.
Mayor Cole attended a drug awareness teleconference provided by public health. She advised Council that she met with concerned residents of Huron Park and the landlord. She attended the Hospital Auxiliary rummage sale and Grand Bend Community Health Centre presentation on healthy communities.
Mayor Cole advised of a radio promotion for the "Feed the People" Concert tobe held on Saturday, May 12 and advised that she volunteered for McHappy Days at McDonalds. She advised that she attended an Emergency Management control group committee meeting on risk assessment and a Rotary Club meeting in Grand Bend at Oakwood.
She advised Council of an upcoming blood donor clinic this Wednesday and the Open House for the Zoning By-Law consolidation on May 10, 2018.
Councillor Oke attended the Earth Day event organized by Communities in Bloom and spoke to the official launch of the South Huron barn quilt trail. He noted that next Wednesday is Kirkton Pool registration.
Councillor Hebert advised that the Communities in Bloom will be having another tree sale May 12 at the Usborne shed. He also mentioned that there is a Community Hub committee meeting Tuesday night.
